Our first lovebird!

I finally found a lovebird to add to our breeders. He is a beautiful Dutch Blue peach face. His name is Verde which means "green" in Spanish. I will have him sexed to make sure he is a boy, then look for a mate. I'm excited to finally have found a lovebird. We don't have any breeders or even pet stores around us.

Baby Budgies 8 wks

Skittles, Jelly Bean, Lemon Drop and Twizzler (Twizzie) All doing fantastic!

A clutch of 6 orphaned budgies were given to me to hand raise when the oldest was 12 days old, the youngest only just hatched.

Now they are about 8 wks old, weaned and charming parakeets! I loved the experience of hand feeding again after a hiatus of 9 years. Read some of our older post to follow them from day 1.

Ugly Betty Update

Well I'm a little behind in my updates. Ugly Betty was the 4 week old baby cockatiel who was severely plucked by her mother. I felt sorry for her so I bought her for $20 and hand fed her till she was weaned. She has turned into a beautiful young lady! All her feathers have grown back and
she's a very pretty cinnamon pearl.
